When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else
— Georgia O'Keefe

I am drawn to the small details of the natural world around me. The process of making art opens my eyes to things in nature that go unnoticed and deepens my understanding of them. I choose to spend time in one place getting to know the plants, birds and insects. Painting in silence, my senses are heightened and I lose myself to a world of discovery and wonder. Working instinctively, I let my eyes be drawn to what attracts me and calls my attention. I am not concerned with exact interpretations but rather respond to what I see in the moment. My art making is not an intellectual process, but a felt experience.

I use my art to share my great wonder and deepening connection with the natural world. - Lesley
